With over 41 years of experience behind the decks, Chas Summers is a true veteran of the UK music scene. His passion spans the full spectrum of genres, but his heart beats strongest for the timeless sounds of 70s and 80s Soul, Jazz, Funk, Disco, and Boogie. His journey began in the 1980s, tuned into pirate radio stations like JFM, Solar, Trax FM, LWR, KISS and Invicta. Inspired by pioneers such as Les Adams and Froggy the Mixmaster, Chas developed a deep fascination with the art of the mix. Chas has held decade-long residencies at legendary London venues including the original Cheers Bar, Bar Rumba, Strawberry Moons and the Hammersmith Palais. A passionate vinyl collector, he spent countless hours digging through crates at Record Exchange, Blue Bird Records, Groove Records, and Record Centre in Rayners Lane. Today, Chas brings that same crate-digging spirit into the digital era with his own exclusive remixes and “re-visits” — reimagined versions of classic 80s tracks, respectfully blended with a modern edge. Chas brings undeniable passion to every event he plays. Known for his distinctive mixing style, many of his sets feature his own exclusive remixes and edits. Over the years, he's had the honour of warming up for legendary acts such as The Fatback Band, The Real Thing, Kenny Thomas, Odyssey, Aswad, Sybil, Loose Ends, Alexander O'Neal, Jocelyn Brown and Heatwave to name just a few. In 2025, he performed sets at the award-winning Summer Breeze in Corfu and also took to the main stage at the Margate Soul Weekender, cementing his reputation as a standout name on the soul and funk DJ circuit.
